Why not just look for a training partner?Wondering if there are any verified SOF out of Chicago on here willing to work with me before selection.
I was working with a buddy who just shipped, and I feel like I need some instruction on things like CSS technique. I'd also like to just be able to pick someone's brain about the mental facets of selection and have someone who's been through log PT and other things so I know I'm not letting myself off easy.
Figured it wouldn't hurt to ask around.
Holy shit what an idea!Have you considered using the "Mentor" part of our site?
http://www.Specialtactics.com has a section where folks can link up with a workout partner, they also have folks who can help you with your swim strokes.I was working with a buddy who just shipped, and I feel like I need some instruction on things like CSS technique. OK, a few things.
I'm not SOF, but I've been through what you're going through.
Are you in DEP yet?
If so, your recruiter should be putting you in contact with a Special Programs motivator who you'll be taking your PST with.
You don't need a verified SpecWar guy teaching you to swim. Have you checked out SEALSWCCdotcom? The CSS is all about timing. Get in the pool and work on it. It's not going to happen over night. You have to be patient while your form progresses. It sucks trying to watch YT videos then go duplicate it in the pool. Once you get it down, you should be able to swim all day long.
Hey man one thing that helps with your CSS is having someone film you while you do it (can be anyone), at least it helped me. That way you can see what you need to work on.
I'm sure there are a few Combat Divers/Experienced swimmers here that can help critique if you upload a video too?...
As long as it's okay with Admin and Mods. If not I'll STFU and back peddle into my lane.
