Colonel Rocky Farr.

Colonel Warner “Rocky” Farr, has passed away. Col. Farr was a bona fide legend is SOF, from what was basically an 18X in Vietnam, to SOG. Det-A, then to medical school where he was a leading voice in both SOF and medicine circles.

In a small world situation, while attending one of my best buddies West Point graduation in uniform Col Farr saw me and sought me out to talk to me. Both me and my father were kinda surprised a colonel walked up and starting shooting the shit with me. He just wanted to chat with another SF guy.

He was a legend. When he talked people shut up. I heard him at a conference in the early-ish 90s. The institutional and cultural knowledge that passed with his death is immeasurable.
