This is going to get very interesting, very quickly, and it's the absolute last thing that Newsom wants. There are no good optics on this one, and he's gonna have to choose a side here- religion-based resistance to the Cali position on transgender women's sports issue.

There is no good answer for Newsom here. He either alienates Muslims, women, and an intersectional principle of the left, or he alienates the LBGTQ base and (and this is might be the worst outcome) he has to capitulate to Trump, the EO's, and the larger culture war on the women in sports issue.

Should be interesting.

There isn't a font type that is sarcastic enough, or capital letters that are big enough for me to type how much "HA-HA-HA" is flowing through me when I read about shit like this.

It's the end product of having ZERO gas in the tank when it comes to espousing some definable set of values. When you are morally bankrupt because you think it is how you please EVERYBODY - you will eventually find that moral bankruptcy will eventually alienate EVERYONE.

Even after Newsome picks a side - or deflects - or gaslights - or backpedals - even the special interest groups that might gain something in the short term will never trust him again. They will have seen how quickly a morally bankrupt public figure will turn on them out of expediency.

The paradox - it doesn't matter - all of these assholes will continue to vote for him because never Trump.

Ever seen the proper order of adjectives? How it's not really a "rule", but it sounds weird in English in we don't put them in order?



Newsom just needs to figure that out for identity groups and he's all set.

To my mind, it seems like the order is gender identity, sexuality, race, religion, gender, so:

The "cis straight white/brown Muslim female student" beats the "Trans x y z female student" since Muslim is closer to the noun than trans.

Or it's all just bullshit word math lol.
