The tale of a python named George who became an NC celebrity

As an aside, the gentleman in the picture, Bill Palmer, was the state herpetologist for many years, and was a good friend of my father. They shared an apartment when my dad met my mother; Bill wrote a textbook on reptiles of North Carolina, mentioned my father in the "acknowledgments" of the book. Small world/six degrees of separation kinda thing.
