Hello everyone,

My name is Ben and I have recently run across the site in my SF searches and has turned out to be a great resource! I'm a USMC vet. whose currently using the GI Bill to get a degree in Organizational Leadership with a minor in Computer Science. While enlisted in the Corps I applied for MARSOC and was eventually turned down during my screening due to my abnormal color vision. This was pretty depressing as I was also turned down by a Navy recruiter for buds for the same reason. However I recently learned that it is possible to get a waiver for it for the 75th, now I'm on the search for any ranger who has/will be going through RASP with a color vision waiver. The user name is a little cheesy I know but its something ive had for a very long time so I just stuck with it :). Hope the information I have heard is true and ill continue to try and use the search feature to try and answer my own questions.

On a side note, I work for the VA Education Office as a work study student and deal with GI Bill questions all day every day, so if anyone has ANY questions about it feel free to ask me. Thanks.

Welcome Marine! We get just a few more and "the powers" are going to begin dropping artillery in the perimeter!

Thank you. Eh, everyone knows we'd just jump the fence anyway :)

We have very well trained Snipers, and you have to get through the expertly placed minefield while combatting well aimed and well placed semi automatic rifle fire along with withering automatic weapons fire from behind well constructed cover with concealment .... and the clear zone is out to 1000m.... we'd be more than happy to let you try our defenses.:wall::hmm::die::dead:

Welcome.

Did I mention the foo-gas and command det AP mines?

lol, well the proverbial fence jumping just got a lot more interesting :P

Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome aboard.

I grew up about an hour away from you, down in FL. I used to spend every weekend in Waycross jumping out of airplanes and I think I once attended a football game at your school. Pretty campus as I recall from 25 years ago.

Anyway, we have a link to the Army Reg. that covers medical standards. It is a Sticky somewhere so go look for it. Also, as a guy who went from NCO to O a bazillion years ago I think the med. standards for O's are different. Regardless, I'd look up pre-commissioning med standards in addition to any programs you're striving for. I know for a fact that I had to do everything from scratch as if I were a new recruit, down to the MEPS visit and everything.

Again, welcome aboard.

Yeah VSU is not to bad, I disagree with certain policies I have to enforce for them with regards to VA benefits, but overall I enjoy the campus. I was actually born and raised in Fitzgerald(out skits on a small piece on land in the boonies) and have definitely been to Waycross a handful of times. Never to jump tho, most of the time it was pass through or playing paintball at an epic field that was there at one time. Ive found the Army regs on here and have them open and plan on reading them through and through, but ill also be sure to check out the pre-commissioning standards as well. Ill be out for about 3, 3 1/2 years by the time I go back in im sure theyll have me do everything again.

Thank you.
