Good afternoon,

I am an active duty Corporal and also an air crewman on the KC-130. I became a Marine Oct 15, 2010, fresh out of high school, and have loved every second of it. I decided to become a Marine because I wanted to be apart of the best. I wasn't some star athlete in high school but have always felt the need to be apart of something more. Recruiter asked if I wanted to fly and be a door gunner. To my unknowing civilian ears, it sounded like a good deal to me. Ever since an instructor in Air Crew Candidate School mentioned MARSOC, I have always been drawn to it, what it stands for, the challenges of it, and the caliber of Marines that serve in it. I got out of training and didn't get my door gunner spot, but ended up on 130's at a reservist unit. Don't get me wrong, I don't regret a second of it. I've gotten to see and do alot of things I, elsewhere, would not have been able to, but it isn't why I became a Marine. Since the two years that I have been stationed here, I have utilized the time to prepare myself physically and mentally for the opportunity to attend A&S. Thankfully, I was able to submit a package and have recently been accepted to attend A&S soon, and have been gratefully given this resource to help me prepare. I am all ears for advice and guidance, being as I know how large of a transition is ahead of me, should I make it. I've never quit anything in my life, and never will.

Semper Fi,

Brandon

Welcome to Shadowspear!

While I cannot offer your direct advice on MARSOC (other than to track down the mentor threads on this board) I will offer the well intended thought that, "paragraphs are your friend". They really make your writing easier to follow, and I have learned over time that the guys who represent SOF here are hella-good writers.

Might as well start now!
