Hello, SS. I'm a junior in high school with the long term goal of becoming a Navy SEAL. As of now, I'm working on finishing high school and getting college plans sorted out. In my spare time I'm usually doing homework or training. With all the information available to SOF wannabees such as myself there is no excuse for being inadequately prepared. I've been lurking on this site for months, absorbing a lot of good information. I've decided to come out of the shadows to get the benefits of being a member. Thanks again, SS, for allowing noobs like me to hang around.

Welcome.

Be a kid. Do stupid stuff, but not to the point of illegality. Revisit the fact you want to be SEAL in about 5 years. Read the SOF mentor area on this site. Realize that ALL SOF is less than 1% of the military and the chances of getting in are slim, and getting slimmer everyday with the drawdown.

Thank you for the advice. I'll be sure to look into the mentor program. I'll continue to evaluate my opportunities and whether attending college immediately after high school would beneficial in the long run.
