Intro

Make sure your ducks are lined up good, so thr resignation leads to an enlisted contract with all the desired training. BCT, AIT,ABN, thrn RASP. Don't br afraid to take a non 11B jb to get RASP; 13F and 68W can also get you into thr fight. GA and WA are your two duty locations. Which missile field will your wife be headed too?

She's going out to Wyoming not far from Colorado.

Actually went to a recruiting station today and walked into Army first to see what could be done. He's telling me now that I'm not eligible for prior service enlistment and I'd have to try to go back to AF and do an interservice transfer. Went to AF next to see if I can enlist with them and the recruiter didn't know, said he'll get back to me.

Next stop, Marines. SSGT says he's never seen this before, but until he finds it written in ink that I can't enlist he's going to do whatever he can to get me in. I called Recruiting Command and spoke with a MSGT who says I have to submit a prior service waiver with explanations for my history. If anyone has more information they'd like to add I'd appreciate that!

At this point I'm okay with whatever branch I can get into. I've always wanted to serve. This whole process of going through ROTC, commissioning, failing, and getting discharged has been the most humbling experience of my life. I'll be grateful just to wear the uniform and serve my country the best way I know how. Rangers were my first option, but at this point I can't be picky. I'll gladly swear into any branch available and find my fit. Of course SOF is where I want to be, but like I said I'm just trying to get back in and do things the right way.

I edited your response a bit:

Why Active Duty and not Guard or Reserve?

Marines are on ech coast, do you plan on seeing your wife more then 30 days/year?

Space Ops, Intel, or any other number of support fields may be available (I assume you have a RE1 code).

welcome. RASP is a ton of fun, but these guys are right about getting your family and self to harmonize. a distracted soldier is a dead soldier (or just washed out). Best of luck.

CBack do you think you would have made it through cyberspace training? It's apples and oranges to SOF. I would hope that 90% of the Ranger Regiment would wash out. I know I would. The only way I would pass cyberspace training if they only tested my ability to find porn on the internet.

If my Initial entry training was to be a cyberspace guy, then yes I think I would have done just fine.

Who knows man. Everyone deserves another shot. Sometimes getting knocked off your horse is just what you need to be born again hard.
