I'm a student in high school who hopes to enlist in the Navy after I graduate. Both of my parents were in the Navy, as well -- and I'd like to continue the legacy. I would like to become an FMF Corpsman, but becoming a Special Amphibious Recon Corpsman is my real dream. I do have some medical experience, what with my mother having been a nurse in the Navy. In addition to this I am planning to join HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America). I run Cross Country and do Track, and think of running to be my strong suit, but consider myself to be in all around good shape. On an end note, I do have a lot to learn -- but I think of myself as having the drive to learn it.

Thanks! Again, sorry for not posting the intro first. Didn't mean to come across as someone with a blatant disregard For the rules of the forum.

Welcome. Good luck. Learn alot.

"I do have some medical experience" ... please clarify.

I do have some medical experience, what with my mother having been a nurse in the Navy. .
Actually, as someone who has already earned that caduceus, no you dont have experience. Your mom does, you don't. I know it might seem picky to you, but to the 68W's, 18D's, PJ's and civvie medicos like myself on the board, it matters.

Be welcome young padwan. Use this time to get good grades in HS. You're gonna need 'em

Welcome to SS.

Concur with Hoosier Annie. If you consider what General Jackson said a long time ago, you can get there ; it's up to you.

You're right. Suppose I should've worded that a bit more carefully. Guess I'll have to *earn* that experience through -- like you said -- good grades in two schools: High School and the School of Hard Knocks. Anyhow, thanks for welcoming me, hopefully someday I'll be able to wear the coveted caduceus. I'll keep my nose in my books and my eye on the prize!
