Hello, my name is Tyson. I am 21 years old and will be signing either an 18x or op 40 contract this week if available. I played soccer for the #2 ranked D2 school in the nation, as well as former semi-pro player. I scored a 114 gt score and couldn't be more excited to get my military career ball rolling. I've done extensive research and always end up back on this site so I decided to finally join the community. I am bilingual (French/English). I also have 28 college credits under my belt, leaving due to an unfortunate injury which caused me to lose my scholarship.

Welcome, there is a huge difference in an Opt.40 contract and an 18X contract. Why do you want to be either?

Welcome.
Your injury isn't preventing you from enlisting?

It was at first. I spiral fractured my fibula and my first time around trying to enlist I was declined through MEPS due to retained hardware. I had my plates taken out about 2 months ago and finally got the green light. Its been a very lengthy process for me to join but according to my recruiter, this is the week.

Allow me to rephrase this. I've always aspired to become SF, but I would prefer to take the op 40 route to get there if it is available to me due to the fact that I would like some previous experience. I am aware of the differences through the amount of reading I have done on the subject.

If I could go back I would have done opt.40 first.
