Hey y'all my name is Elijah Smith I'm from Biloxi Mississippi,I seen this site a Month ago after I graduated and I was like woah man I need to be here lol, but I am joining the marines in hopes to getting to recon battalion. I'm not used to seeing too many African American operators and it's been my dream to serve so that's exactly what I am going to do.My ASVAB is good they say imma ALPHA lol and I'm physically fit all ready thanks to training to be a NAVY SEAL I strive for OPTIMAL pst scores that's why lol(can't be one RIGHT now because I don't meet the eye requirements, dream is not dead just yet) I think this site has a plethora of info plus I like the tabs indicating who's who. Ooh and I love the WODs to haha. But mostly I am honored to be allowed to be on this site and enjoy it

Hi Elijah, welcome to the site and congratulations on your decision to serve.

I have some advice to offer, which you are free to take or leave. If you heed it, I suspect it will help you not only here but during your service in the Corps and in life in general.

In case you're wondering why people are giving your intro post so much "hate," it's because you're coming across as a clown. Your written communications skills are terrible. Words like "imma" (your post) and "tryna" (your profile) are fine to use in your talks among your friends, but when you're in professional company you should adapt yourself to the audience. On this site you are among professionals; if you want to join our ranks, starting acting like one of us. Don't talk to us like we're your high school buddies, because we're not.

Your post and your profile are too informal; no one is going to treat you like a man who might one day be a Marine while you're acting like a schoolkid. If you act like a professional you will be treated like a professional, both here and in life. If you can't act like a professional, you're going to have a hard time making it as a Marine and you are definitely not going to be a member of this site.

Your life, your choices. I hope you make the right ones.
