Hello, I'm Katherine. I am the current girlfriend of an Air Force soldier going in for basic training in 2 weeks. He and his recruitment officer are very hopeful about pararescue in his near future, as am I. I am on this site to find out how best to support my soldier!

Welcome to SS. If you think of it, you might just ask your favorite airman to joint our site. You would not be the first husband and bride team on here.
I already left him a FB message with a link to here :). He'll probably see it when he gets back in town! And not husband and bride, lol - still dating.

Welcome.
Best way to support him is to be loyal. The next months will be the biggest test of your relationship.
Thank you!

Welcome to ShadowSpear!

Good luck to the both of you.
Thank you!

My mistake, and the stars are still aligning. It is so nice to see someone take such an interest in serviemans career. We need all the airmen we can get, and your support will only make his decision all the more fitting. Again, pardon my misread, and welcome to our site.

Welcome![
Thank you, sir!

Welcome to SS.
Thank you, sir!

@SOWT - yes like red flag 1(thank you sir) said, he is dedicated to being a PJ! And sir, from everything I've researched about pjs and knowing him- his integrity, grit, honor, intelligence, desire to serve, help, & protect others, and his dedication (& holy cow his physical fitness as he's been training) - he and the program will be lucky to have each other :D. What an amazing bunch of people! Sir, if you have any advice for me to support him in this process, I would love it! I know that I need to be independent (not needy/clingy), capable of going for long stretches without contact from him. I need to give him his space when he needs it and be there when he's ready for me. Of course, I have a ridiculously wonderful sense of humor :D and that doesn't hurt, right? Oh, and I bake yummy things for him (and anyone else he hangs out with). I really need pointers on my role though.
Warmly,
Katherine
