Hello everyone, my name is Jack and I am currently a HS freshman in Kansas. I have wanted to join the military ever since I was little, and I plan on enlisting in the US Army after high school. I hope to make my way into the Ranger Regiment and then SF. I don't come from an extensive military family and I am a member of MCJROTC at my school. A few members of my family (sister especially) no longer willingly speak to me because of my dreams, but hey, f*** em' right? Looking forward to being here.

I haven't disowned them in that way, but we don't get along. Their opinions and words don't hurt me because at the end of the day they can't effect my goals. Plus hopefully in a few years they'll still be sitting at a boring office job and I'll be kicking in doors.

You are a HS freshman, for the next few years you need your family, educate them about your decision and reasons, but be a kid, play sports, get good graders, and leave time to be stupid without getting into irreversible trouble.

It is unfortunate that your family is not supporting you in your endeavors. Follow your dreams, I am not a Ranger or Special Forces soldier, but I am confident you will never regret choosing that career path. Keep driving to the finish line and they will be proud of the man you become.
