Hello everyone,
I've felt the urge to serve in some capacity since high school, and now I'm 22 years old. For one reason or another, I've always bumped it to the back burner with misguided mental logic each time I really start considering pursuing it. Recently, I've started to realize that if I don't go this route in life that I won't be able to look at myself in the mirror 30 years from now. Currently, I work in the maintenance department for the school system in the county where I live; I realize this is necessary work, but it's just not fulfilling enough for me.
I'll graduate with an Associate's degree in May, and at that point my next logical step in my mind is to begin my pursuit of this goal. My intended course is to get a contract for CCT. I didn't know of the existence of this particular field until maybe one year ago, but since then I've constantly researched everything I can find online and in books; in fact, that research is how I found this site. I'm nowhere close to being comfortable physically, basically I know I can hit all minimums, but I want to crush those numbers. I've started tailoring my workout plans away from my background in powerlifting for football and into the endurance I would need. I'm looking forward to getting insight and advice off this site in pursuit of making this long thought of goal a hopeful reality.
