Hey everyone,

, I got out of the Marines in 2013 and just got hired by the Houston Police Department. I do not feel like I made the most of my enlistment and so I am hoping to join a reserve unit in the near future. I look forward to meeting you all.

Welcome to SS. Thanks for your service, Marine. Congratulations on the Houston PD. You will be under paid, over worked, and, exceptt for here, be under appreciated. Best of luck, and be safe.

Thank you Red Flag 1. I love this job so far. Money comes and goes, as long as my family has full bellies and a roof over their heads it's all good.

@leonrazurado, does that happen to be your real name? If so, you may want to see about having it changed.

Just a thought...

Stay safe out there!

No just a nickname my dad gave me. It means shaved lion, since a lion looks scrawny when you take its mane off but it's still a lion! Lol

4th Recon is in San Antonio and is always looking for prior service Marines.
Teufel, I'm strongly considering it. I'm at the point in the department where I can put police work on hold.

Since you've reminded me, I have to get in touch with a Marine I met at the academy who's drilling with them.

I've visited my best friends family (essentially my second family) the past couple of years in Humble. Last time we were there my friends brother had a Mac-10 shoved in his face when the fools knocked off a gas station on Will Clayton Dr. And shoot that's a pretty nice suburb. Driving in Houston proper itself is an eye opener. I have the utmost respect for what you guys deal with. Thanks for wearing the shield and defending us in more ways than one.

Welcome to the site.
