Israel and Iran

Related to the ongoing Israel/Hamas issue- holy shit you do not hate these people enough. Leslie Stahl is either a low-functioning retard, or so indoctrinated that she's useless, or both.

Imagine having the gall to ask a Hamas hostage if maybe he doesn't have enough empathy for the people that slaughtered 1200 civilians and tortured you for months on end. Insanity.

I'm old enough to remember when the media was trusted and the bias was slight, subtle, and not in every story.

Well, Yellow Journalism has always been around. But Cronkite opened the floodgates for mainstream media when he started moralizing about Vietnam. And then Watergate came along and every swinging dick reporter wanted to be Woodward and Bernstein. Now the media is just one big fucking opinionated political massacre.

I had enough angst as anyone growing up and stuff...but how has college changed so much in 18 years that they are haven for Hamasistanis? Like DEI and CRT went hard in the paint and you have white dudes simping for terries. Mind, most of these simping folks would be murdered byt Hamas in Palestine as if it was sport. I found this odd just like the chicks who ran off to Syria to marry Jihadis thinking there would be Romance. Probably one of the biggest reasons I was very anti-US being there.

I think this might be the only thing keeping Ben and Jerry's relevant.

I will point out that you can't find this statement anywhere.

Yup. Reuters is claiming to have viewed the statement but otherwise offered no proof. If you go the Ben and Jerry's website, their last press release was in 2021. The board, if this is even current:
https://www.benjerry.com/about-us/how-were-structured
I tried to view that page's source to look for an update/ last modified date, but my work computer has that feature disabled.

They need to put up or shut up. "We saw it. Trust us." Eh, fuck off. B&J's activism is hardly a secret and that statement is in keeping with the brand, but why not update your website? Why is the "proof" some statement by a compromised news source? Their only bit of activism on Facebook is 6 days ago. Nothing on Bluesky or Instagram.

Cowards. Is daddy Unilever banning your bullshit on an official website so you have to resort to these tactics? Clowns.

Ben & Jerry's is my favorite ice cream. Full stop. But I don't want my ice cream to be political. I just want it to be ice cream. That's why I don't eat their brand anymore.

B&J has staked out a far-left company political platform on a number of things, especially Israel/Palestine. And their position is fucking stupid. They chose to participate in BDS, so they pulled their products from the "Occupied Palestinian Territories" but will still sell inside Israel "under a different business arrangement?" Does that make any sense at all? Now people living in Palestine can't get their Cherry Garcia on, *and* the PA doesn't get the tax revenue from the sales. Plus B&J got enormous pushback from investors, consumers, and Unilever, who bought the company. Complete dumbassery.

Whether this latest announcement is really a thing, it's totally believable and on-brand for them.

I honestly don't know why we even have discussions with these people. The fact that they think they have leverage is because Israeli's place a lot of value on life. They clearly have not been defeated, and only an enemy that feels actual defeat can be rehabilitated.

That's exactly right, and it's why I've been arguing for years that we need to "give war a chance" in Gaza.
