Israel and Iran

Let's not forget, many of the bomb makers and home chemists making HME in all theatres, not just Iraq and Afghanistan, were trained by IRGC. And those bombs didn't just target U.S. and coalition troops, they were used against the civilian population. I remember reading at one point they even trained AQ guys.

The real difference is the CIA culture is murder second, diplomacy first. Mossad is murder first. Period. There is no diplomacy for them.

The CIA also has to focus on like 70+ nations and terrorist groups, so the ability to collect and action gets spread a little thin.

Mossad, by contrast, devotes its focus solely to two countries and one terrorist group.

Israel maintains a constant state of being in war, or armed conflict....which allows Mossad, and the other military intel units, to conduct very offensive operations.

and it seems, since it's inception, the politicians have reigned in what CIA can do....

CIA got its' fangs pulled by the Democrats in 2014 after Feinstein, et al., came out with their Intelligence Committee bomb about the black sites, extraordinary rendition, waterboarding and affairs at Gitmo. So there's that...

Mossad has had some major fuck-ups over the years, sometimes assassinating the wrong guy. They dropped the ball before the War of Atonement* and, probably prior to the October 7th '24 attacks. But the recent successes are so glaringly good, the other failures can get swept under the rug.

But yeah, they have the luxury of going after their enemies and they don't care if they violate any other state's sovereignty in the process, hence operations in Europe as well as the Mideast.

*But they won it anyway.
