I have seen a number of social media posts calling the rescue a failure because we had to blow up 2* aircraft. Saying Trump and SECWAR are falsely claiming this a victory. Are these real people or bots? Don't know.

I'd say the above qualifies for wanting it to fail if you ignore that we brought our guys home while focusing on 2* destroyed aircraft.

2* because these posts never mention the MH-6 which leads me to think they are either bots or people paid to vomit the same message. Both are prevalent on social media.

We have blown up more of our own aircraft in Iran over the years than they have shot down…

Which is true but some of that is in an interesting place with a couple of airlift and one SOF guy among the last 10...with the rest coming from fighters. No argument with you on that.

I know some aren't aware, but the Rescue Squadrons fall under Air Combat Command, aka Big Air Force. Special Tactics falls under AFSOC, but not the traditional rescue community. I know that caused problems as ACC and AFSOC duke it out over the RQS'. I vaguely recall some drama over CSAR during Desert Storm but not enough memory to speak to the details.

Insult to injury is this turd whom you can search for on here. His time in charge of AFSOC was viewed as...less than favorable by the rank and file.

With part of the PJ community falling under AFSOC and part under ACC, I can only imagine the political nonsense encountered by the career field.

Some people are interpreting his X post as repeating Iranian propaganda. I don't interpret it that way, but at the same time it's technically accurate. He probably should have caveated better.

I am a conspiracy theorist, no reason to believe what I am about to say. It was 6, 2x 130s (MC) and 4x little birds. Allegedly.
