We need to think of something like our WWII PT boats on the large end and Boston Whalers or Bass Trackers on the small end. That's not even counting your post. Lest we all forget, look what Somalia has done to shipping with small arms and small fishing boats.

When we think "navy" in the West, we think of our navies, not the gunboat navies found in the world.

Is their entire strategy to swarm and overwhelm a vessel? Because it looks like this is the objective. What's the counter to this, manned 50's and an occasional chain cannon with thoughts an prayers? Looks like a job really for Cobras and Apaches.

No regime change, and Iran still controls the strait. If we get the strait opened, I think as soon as our destroyers leave, Iran will regain control and this debacle will just go back and forth for a long time. Iran recognizes they have the upper hand in the long run. Also, we were told almost a year ago that we destroyed Iran's ability to make nukes, but its still this administration's fall back when questioned why. BB has been claiming Iran is two weeks from having a nuke for 34 years. Either get out of this or quit fucking around and finish it.


We have now spent close to 60 Billion in Iran. Has that made your life better? Nope, social security and medicare will still be dry in 2035, and Iran will still be Iran. But hey, all the presidents men will still be getting wealthier via the military industrial complex.

If we take ONI's reports as factual, they have like 3,000 speed boats with missiles or rockets strapped to them. That is the bulk of what they send around the Strait and what got our Riverine craft captured because of course we don't shoot back.

Completely agree....but, when we are hitting shitty Cartel boats, I would think any boat in the straits, that was not a container/oiler ship would a good target.

I know...I know...the area is huge, but it's kinda of a big deal right now....
