Good morning, warriors! I just found this site yesterday and think it rocks. I am a tactical strength and conditioning coach working with DoD. I believe one of the few remaining who are actually govt employees rather than contractors. So, I know I'm very fortunate. Was in the 9th ID almost 30 years ago and since have earned a masters degree, worked in the NFL as a strength coach, own my own training business, helped rehab military with acute spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries for the VA following 911, and for the past almost 5 years have been embedded with the military full-time. It's great, but here's the challenge. There is almost no training to help new coaches prepare to work with the military. I have been very fortunate in that my experience has helped me immensely to prepare for this role. I feel that this site might be very helpful in this regard. Let me leave you with this. Here's what tactical strength and conditioning isn't. It isn't cross-fit, or power-lifting, or strongman training, or marathon participation. It isn't physical therapy or functional movement screens. Have I made my point?

Welcome to the community. I look forward to your view, thoughts, opinions and homework in the arena of fitness.

Welcome.

Take a look at all of the SOF prep stuff, there are a great number of us that stress functional fitness over anything else.

Welcome. No you have not made your point. Not being rude, but after your explanation or lack there of, it makes zero sense. I trained till muscle failure...mass + endurance. Please go to the appropriate section and explain. Again Welcome
