"...and the desert falcons that usually ruled this barren swath of desert retreated wisely, for larger prey was in the air."

Okay, tangential, but this has been bothering me... don't you mean that larger PREDATORS were in the air? Larger "prey" would indicate that larger targets would be in the air, and there is no reason for desert falcons to retreat, unless they were afraid of huge pigeons or something, and certainly the Task Force guys aren't prey.

Uh... cool boat.

Very cool! I had left SBU-20 before those came out, although I had been hearing from one of my wife's cousins who worked for Halter how cool they were. I ended up working for a division of the company that Halter Marine morphed into. I worked as a 3D modeler for Trinity Yachts (a division of Trinity Marine) until they moved back to the old Halter Marine yard in Gulfport due to the yard in New Orleans being destroyed by Katrina. I simply couldn't make the 100+ mile each way trip to continue to work there. Which really sucks because I was all set to get my degree in Naval Architecture from the university of New Orleans.

Hey, when did SWCC come about? I was in frome 85-93. I would have loved being part of a SWCC crew. I was a Radioman back then and I am sure they would have a billett for one of those. I tried getting on the boats in Key West....no longer in service now.

Thanks Rav, I got outin '93 so it figures. My cousin was telling me he was part of the SWCC boats their for a while, pilot I think is what he was saying. I was jelous cuz I was the one that convinced him to go into the Navy in the first place.
