MOS preference

The Training NCO of my unit (I'm on one of the Guard SF Training Teams) wants to know my choices for language and MOS. Thought I'd get some feedback from you guys.

For language I'm thinking French. It's what they speak in a lot of Africa and since there is a lot going on there for the foreseeable future, I feel like it'll be useful. I'm not very good with languages so it being fairly easy is a plus.

For MOS, I was dead set on 18B, Weapons Sergeant, but apparently everyone who is an 18C loves it.

18D sounds miserabley difficult and I really don't want to be in the Q that long.... but has tons of post-military applications.

Same with 18E. Doesn't sound very fun, I hear the backlog to get clearance is insane, but having clearance and the knowledge, again, offers lots of post-career opportunities.

Anyway, I obviously don't know anything, so I just wanted to get your input.

I came to this same conclusion looking at what language I should learn to be more effective with my unit. I was pretty set on learning Russian, until I started googling around that French is the roughly the second most used language in the world; I think it was something like 20+countries have it as an official language, and it's spoken in around 50.
