Greetings!
So long story short. I've been in the guard for 3 years. Recently separated.
Now I'm thinking to go active duty and I have a question about dual citizenship and clearance.
As far as I know to go to SFAS I will need to renounce my Russian citizenship. No issue with that. But in order to go to SF I will need to be eligible to obtain secret clearance. How can I be sure that I am eligible? Just don't wanna sign up for 4 years and spend it in conventional Army in my current MOS.
For example: if person performs great at SFAS and get selected but gets denied secret clearance so he won't be able to go to Q course. What's gonna happen next?
Thanks!
Edit: I'm concerned due to Ukraine-Russia conflict that nowadays ex Russians may be not favorable to obtain clearances.
