My Random TV Thread

Found Black Sails on-demand a couple days ago. Pretty much a macho male fantasy, but I enjoyed it. Good action that's not too over the top (although the pirate/SEAL dynamic is a bit odd) and great character development. The dialogue is pretty intelligent and most of the characters are ones you can buy into and want to succeed.

I'm currently watching it. I don't love it, but It's a period in time I enjoy watching and it's very interesting. I'm enjoying it.

I don't know if anyone else watches Mr. Robot but it is at once amazing and like a drill going into my brain to plant a nuke for later detonation.
 
I finished Stranger Things on CQ the other night. What an awesome show. It's right up there with X files for me in terms of sci fi tv. And I think Spielberg is feeling pretty honored with how well they channeled his style.

Stephen King has said that watching Stranger Things is like watching his greatest hits, which he meant in a good way.

I think the show channels he, Spielberg and John Carpenter. Its also a good reminder of the power of 80s sci fi/horror flick techniques, IMHO.
 
Just started watching Blacklist over the weekend. Holy shit is it a good show. I can't believe I never bothered to check it out before.

You like it? As I think I pointed out in this thread, I just cannot take homeboy seriously. Especially as some badass.
 
I'm deployed at the moment and don't know how the streaming from Hulu would go.. but some people have suggested the 11.22.63 mini-series is a good watch. I've never been able to justify anything more than Netflix and Amazon Prime, so not quite sure I want to grab Hulu.
