I tried using the search function and couldn't find good answer. Does anyone have an idea of how pararescue is like in the guard with regards to training and deployments? I know you have to train more than a regular reservist, but no one has given me a straight answer. I've heard people say you pick deployments and train as much as you want, but is that true? Also does anyone have info with regards to how hard you can live from the unit such as 131st or 103rd RQS and living in LA or San Diego and perhaps Maryland? Thanks for the help in advance.

I think this video answers your questions. I haven't watched it in a while but it might be what you are looking for.

Sorry about that sir, just the video is made by a man that was a former PJ instructor. Just trying to spread trustworthy info, won't happen again.

I'd discard the video. That's all.

As for the original question, I would contact the guard unit that you're thinking about joining and talk to the unit recruiter. There are about 100 different answers to your question, and they're all unit and timing dependent.
