This author was an officer in the 82nd and the Ranger Regiment, and is going back to the Rangers after he's down with grad school at Princeton. BSM(V)... two Purple Hearts... this guy is pretty legit. Powerful reflections about "post traumatic growth" and life after war.

For others who feel they may be chasing ghosts or grasping for air, know that just as we would want our loved ones to go on and live a life of joy and happiness in the event something catastrophic happens to us, our fallen comrades would want the same. As Grossman said during his course, “sometimes the most noble and honorable thing isn’t sacrificing your life, but living a life of sacrifice.” Living a vibrant and purpose-driven life is the least we can do to pay tribute to those who have gone before us. It’s how we can “make it matter.” So the challenge to my fellow veterans and active duty personnel is to do what we’ve always been told to do numerous times in our career . . . “Carry on.”

Yep, same shit, new day. And I can imagine being at Princeton the good Major gets an earful.

I know the author and he hasn't had too many complaints about Princeton. I think it's a little different at the grad school level than at undergrad, especially in international relations or security studies programs.
