Thought about this last night.
In some ways, this was a classic "Viet Nam" style rescue. CAS, other rotary assets suppressing the bad guys while the survivor was winched into the bird.
At the same time, I had to remember A1C Pitsenbarger, riding the cable down and staying with the Army survivors.
Ironic that Pitsenbarger flew on HH43's, call sign PEDRO, same call sign flown on this mission.
Hopefully some A-10 or AH-64 gun camera footage will come from this.
