RIP DB. Yes, a lot of memories. I was a 21-year-old Corporal when I first heard the Ziggy/Spiders album. A great talent.
some of the newer local bands think they're doing innovative stuff, then I ask them to listen to Bowie circa late 1960's early 1970's.... they look disappointed and upset after they realize their 'innovation' was done 40 years ago...
His last album sounds interesting.

I am sorry to see this. David just had the right kind of magic to make the things he did just glow. RIP David.
Yeah, Bowie, Jethro Tull, Led Zep, the Doors, Pink Floyd...I've had fun introducing my 3 sons to the great bands of the early 70s. So many unique styles.
I shared this on FB, but not everyone here has a FB page. But this was an impressive video. For those who may not know, the organist is playing Life on Mars.

Isn't it amazing how well it translates into a very baroque organ piece.... one of my favorite Bowie songs too.
Interesting and talented musician.
