School/Mass shootings are now part of our culture.

I probably heard Nick Fuentes' name before, but I never paid attention to him before Charlie Kirk's assassination.

I'm paying attention now.

I stand by my thought that he a racist POS. That said, there's alot I do agree with

I wonder. His last name is Latino. Some of his views as far as I've heard are anti minority or am I of on that?

Like Alex Jones, who I like, he's a nut but dig listening and agree with most but not all.

Fuentes' dad is half-mexican IIRC.

That said, it's a thing where certain nationalities become "white" over time, I.E. Irish, Italians, Jews, etc weren't considered white for a long period of time.

So Nick will acknowledge his last name is Hispanic, but he's white whereas an immigrant from Mexico/other central America country is not.

I understand all that, and I have no hidden agenda on this one. Something I have realized, thanks to the CK event, is that I've been talking to people who have very strong, closely held beliefs about someone they've never listened to in any real sense. I am not saying that's you, I am saying, what I have learned is that I should take the time and be curious first.
And that is a very valid point. Speaking for myself, I try to hold opinions that I have researched thoroughly, with the understanding that, at the end of the day, I am human and I could be wrong.

With regard to Fuentes, I first learned about Milo. Back in the day, when the term alt-right first stepped onto the scene, I was captivated by it. I wasn't a liberal, but the conservative party was abhorrent to me. I was party-less. As a result, the alt-right movement initially appealed to me.

When Trump said the infamous line, "there were good people on both sides," he was correct. I knew people who didn't have a racist bone in their body who were upset that statues were being torn down and wanted to see/protest that action, peacefully. After Charlottesville, the movement was largely hijacked, in my opinion, by individuals who wanted to paint the world through a white vs. other brush. Very unfortunate for those of us looking for an alternative.

As for your final point, I agree. That said, there is also an extreme version of that skeptical view that we must be diligent not to fall into as well.

Student apparently brought a gun on a field trip, and killed himself with it in front of his classmates.

Student brings gun on school field trip, shoots self in front of classmates
"KSL does not normally report on suicides, but because the student brought a gun to school and fired it in front of other students, it brings it to another level."

I'm not sorry for saying this one bit, but using something as tragic and traumatizing as this to further the anti 2A agenda is what polarizes us even further when they do it to not because of how traumatic it was, but for what tool was being used to do it with.

I wonder if this kid was bullied so much that this was his last act of defiance. Horrible.

"Never let a good tragedy go to waste." - Rahm Emanues.

As mad at the world I have been at times, I have never, EVER, wanted to go hurt people like that just because. It takes a real POS to want to do known evil.

And it may appear to be that the murderer was a veteran. SMH...

Lots of demons in the world in all forms. Indeed, spiritual warfare....

It's why I go everywhere with my glock and my rosaries that Maria bought for me. Would like to have them blessed by the priest that married us, Father Mooney.

I just got attacked online for of all things, suggesting Haley Strategic Mandibles over one wrap because get this...I was wasting money for something that was a few cents less.

That's something seriously petty for a cheapskate POS to want to argue over. I can think of plenty of things to be mildly interested of concern to converse with that are major. But to pick a fight over something as negligible and benign as THAT? lol, alrighty then.

People need help and are too afraid to admit it because of their egos and from complete POS's online who demonize things and persons. I think society has made it too hard for others to ask for some help so all they have left to do is one of final act to lash out with. If hate has no home at all, then stop making a person be hateful to even think of committing these things because of apathy and cruel dehumanization, instead of choosing to ask for an intervention.

I've personally saved four souls from ending it and for one from taking others with him. All veterans, too. One Coast Guard, two Marines, and one Army. Show me one of them that has even tried to save just ONE. And all were excruciatingly mentally exhaustive. I'm not bragging here, I'm just putting the cards out there to mention talk is cheap, and certain words are hot and loaded that changes things.

Whatever, rant over. Sorry. It pains me to see needless suffering because of how hard the world has made it for others to ask for some help without being verbally shunned and lynched for it. Nah, let's keep making them angry where they decide to attack a church and then ask every question but the obvious ones and then blame everyone but themselves for it.

I'm going to play my 'jump to conclusions' card now - he is an anti Christian left winger - if he there was an objective online presence that overtly tied him to the conservative movement, CNN would be reporting it nonstop - MSNBC would be reporting it nonstop - ABC would be reporting it nonstop - The View will be talking about this morning - Don Lemon will be reporting it on his podcast...
...and Jimmy Kimmel will be talking about it tonight as well

OR

you will find that ALL of his social media has already been cleansed to keep people from seeing how much leftist shit is on it - and how the social media "police" have let him post that shit for YEARS while shadow banning poor old aunt Hortense for having "good bless America" written at the bottom of the corn bread recipe that she posted because 'god bless America' is hate speech that violates community standards

Just my prediction
...happily awaiting the full court media press to show that I am just a 'chronic conclusion jumper'

CNN and Fox finally added background about the guy. Fox still has it front and center while CNN has it buried down the page.

Neither talk about his political leaning. Motor T guy in the Marines for 4 years, 1 trip to Iraq in 2007. Has a child with a medical problem, family started a GoFundMe to pay for expenses. Liked to hunt, worked for Coca-Cola as a driver...very bland stories that are basically the same. Nothing about politics or religion.

This is why we wait. It's everyone's immediate reaction to look for a motive, when a completely logical reason could be, "there is no motive".

Never let a good tragedy go to waste, I suppose.

Assuming the info we receive is even correct. End of the day, people are only as good as the information provided.

"Hands up! Don't shoot!"

A shooting can be political even if the gunman isn't aiming for that.

A shooter can be political without the shooting being that.

I won't be suprised if it's the second case in the Michigan instance. Also wouldn't be suprised if it is specifically an Anti-Mormon thing and not "anti-christian".

Looks to me that a troubled guy falls for mormon woman, and to go on with the relationship he had to remove tattoos and get permission from the church. I'm guessing they said no.

It's only made political by politicians using this as a platform. Trump will say "another example of attacks on Christians" and the left will say "see! right wing terrorism is real because he MAGA!"

You can also be just batshit crazy and a motive is never truly known, if one existed in the first place. We may never know why this guy did it, BUT it is easy to speculate. Previous high profile shootings either had fabricated info or info withheld. The FBI is running the investigation and Kash Money has proven to be anything but honest, so do we trust their press releases?

I also like @Florida173's woman angle because that one's very plausible.

Meh.
