I made this for my facebook page, but I think it is something that applies when training for SOF as well. Take what you can from it, depends on the person how much applies.

Step up your game. It's not enough to be smart, and it's not enough to be strong. You have to be both. Know the stuff you know you will need to know, and hold yourself to a high standard for physical fitness. It's easy to be a failure; it takes some work to be successful. Which do you want to be? None of us are here to give you hugs, tell you how great you are, and how you will be a great success some day. You have to work your tail off and earn it. Quit making excuses, and quit feeling sorry for yourself. Make a decision here and now about whether you want to be successful or not. You aren't the first person who grew up with a rough child hood, or no money, or no friends, or without the right clothes, or without a car. You aren't the first person to lose someone important to you, you aren't the first person to face difficulties, and you aren’t the first person to have a disability. You aren't the first person to be out of breath and at muscle failure during a work out. Somewhere, someone else has had it worse, but instead of feeling sorry for themselves, they got over it and made it happen. They earned their success, and they never looked back. We aren't a jobs program, we are not a welfare program, we are not a last resort job. We are the United States of America, the greatest country on earth! If you do not live up to the standards that others have died trying to up hold, then you are a disgrace to the Flag and everything it stands for. Do you think this is over dramatic? That this is over the top and not necessary? There are great Americans six feet under the ground at places like Arlington who would beg to differ. They died in the hope that their children, and their children’s children would some day have the chance to do great things. You all have the potential to do great things, tap that potential and make it happen! You have limitless resources to do it here in this country. Free education and a free economy among them! If you need advice on something, or need a second opinion, ask someone or do it the old-fashioned way and research. Don't walk around like you are lost in the sauce, resources are out there! Everyone has the potential, just tap into it, and realize it won't be easy. Nothing worth doing ever is.

Nice.

A lot of people have the physical potential to function in SOF. What most lack is mental toughness. You can train your mind to some extent, and with that, you can train your body too. Just have to take that first and last step...

Reminds me of a former Ranger I watch on YouTube his names John Lovell and he always says " Its not good just to train hard, you have to train smart" he really got me into reading and got me thinking that if Men could do it before me ( Probably in worse conditions ) then why can't I.
