The Jeffrey Epstein Scandal

They may not represent the values and principles of those on this board, but they did win through a majority vote.
Americans are usually limited to two choices, two less than stellar candidates. Average America doesn't decide who they are. So yes, one of two people who don't really represent average Americans will win by a majority vote.

Makes you nervous about what we all fought for.

Well my friend, we served so that the best and brightest could insulate themselves from duty and push policies that affect everyone but not themselves. For them to push things that accept gender dysphoria instead of treating it. The only way to combat it is to vote for people you believe represent your interests.

I mean...we have VetBro grift in Congress for heaven's sake.

What we really need is a true war. Not some contingency operation. Good times have created too many weak men. 😔

ETA: interesting

That’s been a thing for a long ass time, and not just in this country. “Bone spurs”

All the rewards with none of the risk.

My uncle got a draft deferment for a back issue. My grandparents weren't exactly rich. So I don't think Trump's deferment is anymore than a bullshit talking point other than I guess people who became President that are of his generation all avoided Vietnam. Whether that was Clinton, Bush, or Trump. At least John Kerry was in Vietnam on a damn swift boat I guess.

It's effing TDS, just another way to belittle him. We have ours too, used to belittle them as well and is no different. I pay them no mind but I sometimes do ask if they've served at all, most haven't. I always chuckle at the irony.

A few thoughts on the matter...

-Modern day military folk look romantically at the Spartans because "THIS.IS.SPARTA." - and yet, the Spartans were a terrible society and it was quite common for them to touch young people that they should not have been touching.

-We spent several years in the 1980's supporting the Afghans against the Russians. Then we spent 20 years in Afghanistan fighting the 'terr'ists' all the while, American foreign policy would look the other way when the Bacha Bazi issue would come up.

-Not only did American foreign policy require that US support look the other way over the Bacha Bazi custom, part of the ROE addressed proselytism. ROE usually concerns itself with who you can shoot and WHEN you can shoot them; the US had to make sure foreign policy also made sure we didn't offend anyone by talking about religion, morals, or cultural values.

Why?
Why wouldn't "American exceptionalism" extend into some sort of universally recognized moral courage?
Isn't that supposed to be part of our national values?
Isn't that part of the American Moral Code?
Or is it because "we the people" are no longer serious about being "Americans" if there isn't an associated profit margin.
Morality and Moral Values do not have an attractive profit margin.
...if it feels good do it.

So, what does that have to do with "The Epstein Scandal" ???

It's simple. Powerful people that achieve and maintain power and influence over the masses do so through corrupt means. ALL politicians find their way into permanence through corruption. Everyone in DC knows something about what went on.
"Your Guy"
"My Guy"
...all of them
...that's why there is so much consternation about "releasing the facts"
...the "truth" ain't never gonna happen.
...the "truth" doesn't exist in the Permanent District of Columbia.
So - here is a hot tip...

EVERYONE that you "THINK" has some sort of tie to this despicable scandal surrounding the Epstein scandal - has some sort of tie to the Epstein scandal. Even if it is just tacic support through long term silence for the sake of going along to get along.
Don't jump to conclusions.
Wait for the facts.
Let's not judge early.
Innocent until proven guilty.

BULL.SHIT.

That's just something lawyers without morals say to sell their clients innocence to a jury that still thinks that the justice system applies equally to everyone.
Guilty mother fuckers are guilty.
Guilty mother fuckers WALK all the time. They aren't any less guilty than they were when they stole the thing they stole, killed the person they killed, or touched the person they shouldn't have touched.
...there is a very important reason they say "found innocent" instead of just being real about it and saying "innocent"

NOBODY is ever going to be satisfied with "the results" of this entire scandal - regardless of what "findings" are released.
NOBOY
EVER

If somebody comes down on the side of the democrats - no amount of 'testimony from the grave' is ever going to exonerate Trump.
TDS will live on in infamy, comfortable in the faith that Trump did that shit. Whatever "that shit" might be.
...if PROOF surfaces that shows that slick Willie did all of the worst things imaginable and Trump never did nuttin' - never saw nuttin' -never knew nittin' - never even heard nuttin' that would connect him to nefarious behavior even to the degree of saying "he KNEW and never said anything. Joe Biden wasn't sharp, he's NOT focused, he wasn't on point, and he was incapable of engaging with everyone in the room. "Big Mike" really does have a dick...
...it wont matter - TDS sufferers will go to the grave KNOWING that their guys were framed and Trump "did that shit" and should be held accountable for so much more than just the 34 felonies he was convicted for committing.

The same goes for those on the right side of polyticks that have hopelessly invested into their KNOWLEDGE that the Clinton Crime Syndicate is a real thing...
...pizza gate
...virgin blood sacrifices
...cigar gate
...Clinton cash
...Arkancide
Proof could surface to prove beyond any degree of doubt that Madam Secretary was telling the truth all along. Trump really did steal both elections, Bush and Cheney really did orchestrate 9/11 for profit. It was all just a vast right wing conspiracy to discredit Madam Secretary's dear husband Bill. She was the one. Right all along. Standing by her man, giving him two arms to cling to, somethin' warm to come to when nights were cold and lonely, and the conservatives were just trying to destroy his legacy.
Even the claims that he sodomized a government clerk with a cigar in the oval office...
...all lies.
None of it matters - there are countless people on the right that will go to the grave KNOWING that their guys were framed by the commie, socialist, America hating leftists that will never be held accountable for any of their heinous crimes against humanity.

Yet, here we are - wondering when "the truth is gonna drop"
...its not
...your guy is guilt

YES - "your guy too"
They are all guilty.
...its part of their job description.

Now, lets all pick our favorite flavor of kool-aid, figure out which brand of bullshit suits us best, and get back to living the best life we can live, comfortable in the knowledge that the root purpose of government is to govern.
Government doesn't serve.
It governs.

You cannot and will not win against city hall.
The best you can hope for is to be ungovernable to the greatest degree possible, without being thrown in prison for supporting the "wrong side" of the aisle.
That is all,

I would argue that the last twenty-five (or so) years of contingency operations has created quite a few strong men.

Box, you're not wrong. We tolerate the corruption. But that's not a recent thing. I would say we've done that since the nation was founded. And I seriously doubt that will change, at least without Divine Intervention.

There is one thing the Epstein scandal has done for the us: here, finally, is a point on which the vast majority of us agree.

Not enough of our country's decision makers were affected by the wars for it to matter. With no draft and no war tax, and no real way for the other side to affect the homeland in any meaningful way--and no accountability for the results of those wars--the wars didn't move the needle much politically.

The hard times that the weak men created in our country were political and social. And from that, the hard men who will help return the good times emerged.

I'm looking forward to meeting these hard men that will return us to "the good times" because it doesn't seem like any of them are currently serving as congressional representatives of the American people.
Sincerely - I pray for their arrival the way some pray for the lords second coming.

I suspect the good lord will get here first.
