The Trump Presidency 2.0

The biggest balls in a republican government belong to a female democrat.

Every republican that has served in the US government over the last 10 years should be fucking ashamed of themselves for enabling this bullshit.

Mother fuck - it hurts my heart to hold a democrat in such high regard
...I hope this feeling passes quick its making me feel all funny inside

Trump secures $221M Columbia University settlement over alleged civil rights violations

So Columbia is out millions of dollars over antisemitism, racial discrimination, and DEI.

That's great. Really. But until/unless there are meaningful consequences for the people committing these acts directly, they are going to continue.

And I doubt that Columbia is going to make any real reforms, especially when it comes to things like race-based admissions. They'll just push it underground like Harvard did and keep right on going until there's a political climate that allows them to go right back to these same policies.

Minus taking money from them, what other avenues do they have left to pursue if no laws were broken? Money is all you can do. It is a hollow victory, but maybe all that can be had. The rot that created DEI discrimination isn't going anywhere because our universities created the rot in the first place. They won't learn a lesson until their pocketbooks take a beating harder than an NFL player's girlfriend.

I am at a quarterly trauma meeting this morning, part of what we discuss is our regional disaster coalition/program. The Big Beautiful Bill eliminated grant funding portion of all of that as well as funding for several disaster response/preparedness programs. Crazy.

Plenty of laws were broken, though. The "protests" were riots where property was damaged, people were deprived of their civil rights, and citizens were assaulted. Laws were also broken through openly-racist admissions policies. People need to lose their jobs and/or go to prison over these things. Those hundreds of millions of dollars didn't come out of the perpetrators' pockets, they couldn't care less if Columbia had to settle. It didn't cost them a thing.
