Agreed.
It is sad to see. I'm unfamiliar with helicopters, how is it that with our advanced technology that two could come so close together to crash?

Bloody tragedy, my only thoughts. Training accidents are unfortunately inevitable; training for war involves many risks. RIP and Semper Fi.

Ihe spirit of accuracy, the event described within that story is from February 25 of 2012, not 2017.

Just putting it out there so that people are not doing Google searches thinking this is a recent tragedy.

I appreciate that @Ooh-Rah has put this in proper context. I have to wonder if the OP knew that this was history-v-recent event.

Were it a recent event, say the last few days, it would be quite impolite to be pushing for a response from active duty service members. That is what it seemed like was happening in the op.

Agreed.

Of course, you have to agree that this happens with the commercial/general aviation world as well. Even fixed winged aircraft collide in mid-air too. There is an entire industry out there devoted to avoiding any aircraft collisions. There are volumes of books, studies, and articles about this subject, dig around some and you may find some answers on your own. We don't really like spoon feeding very much. If you are in college, you should have plenty of resources open to you.

Recommendation: Read more, and post less.

As for the fallen Marines: Rest In God's Own Peace, Marines.

I don't know how this thread made it as far as it did.

A title of "thoughts" relating to the deaths of Marines?
