Traveling observations....

After traveling a lot the past couple weeks and as I sit in ORD, I can again confirm my earlier comment that Delta is the best domestic airline...and it's not even close. United is a distant second and they can fuck right off with their check carry-on policy.

I actually prefer United, just because I don’t enjoy having to go through Atlanta to go literally anywhere.

Atlanta: Hell, but a simple layout. I don't mind Atlanta.
O'Hare: I mean, it has a Wildcat painted to look like Butch's. Otherwise, fuuuuuuuuuck that place.
Dulles: The bus thing... Otherwise, not bad.
DFW: American Airlines hub. Poor layout. I try to avoid, but that isn't always possible.
JFK: Fuck that place into the sun.
Orlando: TSA is a crap shoot, do you have a 10-minute wait or an hour+, but the airport's layout is good and the tram is usually pretty quick.
Miami: Another American Airlines hub. I went there post-some hurricane. Layout was okay, tram was good, but hurricane damage makes it hard to have a solid idea of what it's like.
BWI: So, so long ago but I probably hate it.
London Heathrow, T3: Older terminal and it shows. Mostly for US-flagged flights, kind of meh compared to....
London Heathrow T5: New, mostly if not all long-haul BA flights This is a banger, hands down the best even when busy.
Abu Dhabi/ Dubai: Not bad depending on the terminal. No seating however because there are lots and lots of people camping on the seats. Bathroom quality is sketch.
Amsterdam Schiphol: Horrible, horrible layout.
Frankfurt: Haven't been there in 20 years, but I remember a dark, poorly laid out, smells of stale smoke madhouse. Lufthansa/ United hub. Avoid if possible.

All of these are easant class. I like Delta and American. Abhor United. Southwest is fine but overrated. Frontier, not a bad option, not a good option. Allegiant (never flown but know those who have) is flying dogshit. Etihad and Emirates are overrated and sans alcohol. KLM is pretty good and has a better post-meal service than BA. British Air kills them all, hands down.

I hate flying, anywhere. Oh, once I actually get into my seat I am good, perfectly fine. But as soon as I leave my house or wherever I might be going to the airport, the interval between that and actually strapping on the seatbelt I utterly loathe.

We have a blood feud with American Airlines in our home. I’d rather pay more on any other airline.

We actually just got a bunch of routes on Breeze, including a nonstop to San Diego. It isn’t a bad airline, but SAN to RDU is a long way on an A220…

The Navy reserve used to pay good money to fly me on the regular to San Diego from RDU, always with connections/lay-overs. A travel day could be 12 hours. I'd take the A220.
