Very cool. :) Bet he is smiling from heaven.... rest in peace.

As they stood on a red carpet, a sellout crowd applauding the life of their fallen son, Clayton and Paula Thomas fought back tears as Flyers captain Mike Richards presented them with a framed Flyers jersey prior to the opening faceoff of Saturday's game against the Devils.

Then something more surreal happened.

Starting with goaltender Brian Boucher, every Flyer climbed over the boards and shook hands with the couple from Hertford, N.C., passing along their condolences for the loss of their 33-year-old son, Navy Seal Chief Petty Officer Collin Thomas, who was killed in the line of duty Aug. 17 in Afghanistan.

"The ceremony was beautiful," said Clayton Thomas. Collin's father. "We could not have asked for any higher honor than what happened today with the ovation the fans gave us and those players coming over and shaking our hands. I'm speechless, absolutely speechless."
