Cool article about the 400ft long Japanese Sentoku type sub that we deliberately sank off the coast of Hawaii after WWII.
I was aware of the late war production Type XXI "Elektroboote" subs the Germans produced, with only two ever seeing wartime service. I believe they were sunk off the coast of Ireland postwar after their crews surrendered, but have never read anything on this massive Japanese type that is double the size of the German XXI.
The X-400 could store and catapult launch up to 3x Aichi M6A aircraft specifically designed to attack the US.
