I've had former Vietnam Marine REMFs ask me what my MOS was and then say, "Well, we're all infantry." No, sorry. You aren't. You stood some guard duty shifts in a bunker at Danang Air Base and saw some tracers arc into the sky six miles away. Then you went to the air conditioned E club, had an ice cold beer and told "war" stories.
I've seen guys like this, from different branches, at the VA working claims.
