Airlines, airplanes and other kerfuffles

That's a real shitty video; my first though was this was somebody filming with a jitterbug phone.

Turns out it's from 12 years ago. Im sure this was just an honest mistake on Matt's part and in no way just him finding an example of "culture war" to talk about while airlines are trendy.

Always find these cherry picking videos, right? Posted for discussion not making point.

I don't know if the audio will turn up or not, but scanning this archive, you can see all of the different aviation incidents out there.

The majority of these are probably general aviation. Flying is still safe, just not if you're a low time doctor with more money than skill or the "I've done this for xx years" guy with an expired license.

A Southwest flight tried to take off on taxiway H in Orlando. They made to 70 knots (about halfway to take off speed) before ATC caught it and alerted the crew, rejecting the takeoff.

Southwest flight tried to take off from Florida taxiway after crew mistook it for runway

This one is available head scratcher. There are 2 people in that cockpit and neither one said, "Hmmm...this looks odd".

Runways and taxiway look noticeably different. Even then, major airlines like Delta, etc have a procedure to confirm your runway, which includes looking at the big white numbers painted on the pavement.

Brooklyn Park, MN - Yesterday, March 30th.

Video 1: Ring Camera catches plane going down. Engine did not sound good…Pilot was thought to be a US Bank exec. No known passengers.

Video 2: Lots of fire. Wife was out walking the dog. Husband was in kitchen having sandwich. Said house ‘immediately’ filled with smoke, could not see the front door by the time he got to it.
