Fatigue cracks in general are not uncommon for all aircraft, pylon, nacelle, truss mounts or frame. What is uncommon is MX missing what is a known issue. I'm curious to see how this one plays out.

Roll back to a previous version of the software. You're right, most airlines knocked this out pretty quickly and the disruption was minimal. @DA SWO probably remembers this better than I, but Airbus has had software problems before.
