Any golfers on here?

The man just comes back and competes and competes....bad ass.

I love the fact that he's coming back and killing it after having arguably one of the biggest downfalls in the sports world. The dude is a machine even after all of the injuries he's had.

I'm so happy! These galleries are insane, chanting his name before he even finishes.

Treated myself to a new driver today, a Calloway Rogue. Based off the indoor shot simulator, my average drive was 305 (270 carry), swing speed 121, 13* shot angle (after I bought the club I relaized it was set to 8* so I will probably set it back to 9* to bring it higher), 3 yards off center, and a 1765 spin rate.

I had never had my spin rate measured and my first shot was 3200, which because I had hit it off the heal made me concerned when the Pro said that he likes to see closer to 1,700 to 2,000 for a male my age. I also fade the ball because of bad mechanics (body comes down before club face, resulting in an open club face). A quick adjustment made a huge difference in distance from 260 yd carry to 270 yds. Based off the 7 iron distance I was getting from warm up shots, it is pretty close so I'm looking forward to an extra 35 yards off the tee (currently average around a 270 yard drive. Even if it adds only 10 yards, it seems to fly considerably straighter than my current driver.

I played some, until I got married and started having kids. Since then, just too many competing priorities and I have to triage my hobbies. I only had one set of clubs, Wilson, I got at K-Mart. I wasn't great, a scratch golfer at best. Now that my kids are older, I might take it up again and get them in it.

Scratch golfer would be your handicap is a zero, meaning you finish at par. My last three months when I was in Marine Corps I played 36 holes a day. Those of us getting out after we got back from Iraq (with less than 3 months time on contract) were removed from the platoons as they were building back up to deploy six months later again back to Iraq. As I didn't have a job and nothing else to do, I played a lot of golf on the Scarlett and Gold courses on base. Lowered my handicap to 6. Haven't come anywhere near that since (play once or twice a month any more) and now am happy to just be under 85.

Played exactly 3 times in my life. Once as part of the bachelor party for my buddies wedding, so I was obligated as a groomsman. The other two were charity events, one at NAS Oceana and the other at some little course I don't remember. Aside from racing golf carts, drinking and smoking cigars with buddies, which I can do anywhere, it didn't hold any appeal. It's a painfully slow game that consumed a better part of the day. Pretty much all I think about the entire time is all the other cool shit we could be doing with our time instead. 😁
