Army SFC gets 25 years for attempting to aid ISIS

I'm really interested in how this dude became radicalized. He joined in 2001, and (from the article) started "dabbling in the Muslim religion in 2014".
What happened in that 13 years of service that made him agree to become a suicide bomber? Does ISIS Just have a really good recruitment wing?

Disillusioned, disenfranchised, or just tired of whatever was going on in his life. It's less about the recruitment message and more about exploiting the already weak and tenuous links.

ISIS essentially penetrates an organization and blows (I'm funny) that on recruiting him as a suicide bomber? I guess that's one way to do it.

Regardless...Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Screw the 'or' in this case...sick and tired of the US giving the traitorous bastards a break..start giving the maximum penalty and see how many mf'ers cease and desist. $.02
