Charlie Kirk shooting -

Ok.

I said something that I thought, which was that Charlie Kirk was an influencer who went to universities and “owned the libs”. That was what I knew him for. Him being killed did not strike me as being an event in line with MLK Jr’s assassination. You all gave me reasons you think it is. I understand the opposite position better than I did. That is how conversations work.
Charlie Kirk started the most influential conservative movement, arguably winning the '24 election for Trump, fresh out of college. The Turning Point Super PAC has raised more than $7M and championed right-wing causes like no other, and that impact came from the singular mind and effort of Charlie Kirk. There is probably no other single person on the right who was more centrist and did what no one else would do- he wanted to talk, and have an open discourse. He "owned" them by giving them a microphone and asking questions.

Do you think your immediate reduction of Kirk (and your intended goal of minimizing the importance of a political assassination on stage) to "just an influencer" is problematic? Would you say that it's because you're truly ignorant of who the guy is, or that you're predisposed to care less because Kirk represents an ideology that you're at odds with? I assume it's the former; you've admitted you don't know who Charlie was or his impact.

Well, damn, you're gonna drop that nugget here and leave us hanging? That's cold.
Gotta leave easter eggs in longer posts to keep the reader engaged.

And yeah, you've 100% seen his work if you are on instagram and he is bigger than my accounts individually (I just have more accounts than him).

The thing that pisses me off is the image some of our fellow members have of the guy, that image was carefully curated by the left taking tiny soundbites out of context all the time. He consistently exchanged ideas freely. There is nothing controversial about any of his positions. But he got painted as such. Because instead of engaging in the free exchange of ideas, we get shut out by the left and painted as things we are not and we have no ability to respond without being painted as racist.

He's the most successful community organizer of the 21st century. (Obama didn't organize stuff in the 21st century)

Martyrdom is a helluva thing, and someone just made Charlie Kirk a martyr.

This is the first big martyr the right has had for a long time.
The right talks shit but doesn't really fight back. Religion and turn the other cheek and all that. However, I worry the day when it does retaliate.There are people calling for civil war who don't understand what that means.

People are too quick to forget what happened when someone actually had retaliated, and it was only innocents and collateral damage that happened and not an actual clap back. Timothy McVeigh, OKC Bombing and may he continue to rot in hell.

Train like you are hated, because we are all hated. But pray that it's never called upon to be used again. And pray that all it does is make you healthier than you were before.

@TLDR20

I gave it some thought. No, I will not block you as you had already done with me and suggested to do as well. Instead, I will respond only if you are in need of help, for if I was to ever block a person then I would never be able to see if a brother from another mother was in duress. I may not be ab brother to you because we never served together and that I never earned a green beret, or for whatever reason you have to choose not to, but you are still a brother to me and I don't close my doors just because of differences of political opinions. That is up to you to do and act and to decide for yourself, but you have disappointed me knowing that you wantonly closed yourself to me, and because of politics.

Charlie is gone and so is your two democrats who nobody knew at all until it happened but we all had known Charlie. I'll be outside with the rest of us. Good luck.
