Charlie Kirk shooting -

It has been interesting to see all this AI slop filter into rapidly developing stories. I’ve now seen fake songs by numerous artists, posts of people saying multiple different NfL players(depending on where they live) are covering living expenses, just unbelievable amounts of fake shit.

NFL players, country music stars... if everyone alleged to be stepping up to cover "living and educational expenses" was legit, Charlie Kirk's descendents are set for like four generations.

My first job out of college was newspaper reporter. I hated it, but I learned a lot. One of the lessons I learned that I have gone back to is 2-source verification. I assume everything is a bot or AI, and until I see something by someone credible at another source, I consider it untrustworthy.

My algo is already pointing in this direction, but the number of prominent individuals saying the same thing is very impressive. We know that a lot of folks in Hollywood, sports, etc, lean right but dare not say it out loud- but this is the issue, man. This is the watershed issue for the right.

When people who describe themselves as "centrist" absolutely sprint away from the party, that's when you know it's serious. Not just when they do it, when they say it out loud and post it.
Between President Trump's re-election, Charlie Kirk's assassination, and the mess that the Left has made of our country over the last four years, the permission structure is in place to make America into America again.

The Hard Times we've been through for the last decade are finally producing some Strong Men.

I love simple formulas.

It would be nice to see a healthy majority in his favor for his last two years in office; even better if it was this kind of shit that pushed it into fruition. BUT - mid term red waves and all that jazz
Congressional republicans are the best in the galaxy at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

If our selected leaders were anything but a collective empty bag of guts, a giant pile of the shit that has brought us to this point on the timeline would have never been enabled in the first place. For god sakes - in the last 24 hours I have seen Steven A. Smith and Chris Cuomo do a better job at demanding decency from the shit-left than most of the "conservative" republicans in our government.

What I'm trying to say is that I am ashamed of my selected representatives.

If Americans only realized that both sides are 2 heads of the same swamp lizards.....

Hopefully Trump's next term will be even better

This is the biggest thing to me.

I didn’t like Kirk as a political figure. I also see the people sharing clips where he says gun deaths are worth it to keep gun freedoms or that empathy is woke as sort of a "gotcha" type of irony. I get it.

I also understand that Kirk is still a fucking human who shouldn't be murdered and this shit can very easily turn into a powder keg event.

He didn't say gun deaths are "worth it" though. He said they are a price of a free people. The context of that clip is like 8 minutes long, never sound bite that guy because he's well reasoned. In that he mentioned traffic fatalities. More people die because of cars obviously, but we as a people have determined that vehicle deaths are worth it. It was an interesting segment.

More kids die of gun violence than in automobile accidents. In fact it is the number one cause of deaths of children ages 1-18 in the US. Him saying that is a price to be paid was calloused. I agree with his sentiment, but his statement when taken in context of innumerable school shootings is a thing people will not forget.

I thought fentynal was #1?

Ok, first remove suicides, then remove gang violence. What becomes the number?

So I'm really struggling to understand your posts. Other than it seems that you remain incredibly liberal even when logic says those aren't your people. Which I suppose is fine and we are diametrically opposed.

If you believe that we should be a free people, then you accept that there will be gun deaths. Again that wasn't his point, he said that there are ways to reduce gun deaths. That requires more armed security. Etc.

Oh I see, that made up term, "gun violence".

What causes gun violence? Is it the guns or is it the persons? Why are we purposely not talking about the person doing it and instead being the coward wanting to blame the tool instead? That's what cowards do because it's going to hurt the agenda and their false narratives. When evil wants to kill, evil finds a way. To deflect away from that FACT and not admit that a failed ideology is partially or even wholly to blame is political insufferable cowardice.

What did Darrell Brooks use, anyone? What did Bryan Kohberger use to do it? Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev? Decarlos Brown Jr? Fan Weiqiu who killed 35 in a country where it doesn't allow gun ownership to citizens?

I can keep going on. Shall we start with vehicle rammings and then work our way down to stabbings or what?

Charlie was a good listener and a good communicator and did his thing without being a douchebag. I agree with Shapiro a lot but not a big fan of his approach. Let's see if he carries through with his promise to visit college campuses. Its going to be easier said than done.

If anyone from Kirk's political end is prepared to do it, it is Shapiro, who has also been doing campus debates since the 2010s and routinely faced hecklers and hostile opposition. He was escorted out by police for his own safety on at least one occasion.

Having met Charlie and engaged with a fair number of Turning Point members during their more libertarian beginnings, I can say his was of the few groups on campus that consistently endorsed free speech and welcomed vigorous debate. My understanding is that they maintained that even as Charlie and TP began promoting more populist national rhetoric.

I don't know how or even if anything will play out from this, but I suspect there are a wide range of personalities that will be feeling a certain way due to how he ended up representing several spots on the conservative thought spectrum by the time he passed.
