I don't think it would be prudent for me to comment on pre-decisional issues, especially ones that are outside my area of expertise and far above my pay grade. I will say, though, that you all know my personal politics and if the situation at West Point was as dire as many people seem to want to make it out to be, I wouldn't work here. Period.Interested to hear @Marauder06 perspective on this. In your experience at USMA, are woke, civilian professors even an issue? I'm guessing civilian professors are less likely to share their personal politics at a service academy. @Marauder06 If your not comfortable commenting on this, roger that!
Hegseth’s goal for fewer civilian professors at military academies faces roadblocks
I'll also add that I leave my politics at the front gate when I come to work. If there are those here who don't--and I'm struggling to come up with any specific examples of that in my mind--then maybe they need to find another line of work. We're here for one reason: to support the unit's mission, the Army, and the nation. Anything else is secondary.
The Academy had a direction under the last presidential administration, and I reacted to it by... doing my job. If the Academy takes another direction under the new administration I will react to it by... doing my job.
Any organization can be improved. But I think this one does good work for the nation and I'm glad to be a part of it. That was true in the past, is true now, and I expect it will be true in the future.
