Hello all,
As you can see this is my first post on Shadowspear (besides my introduction). I have always had an interest in wilderness survival and instructing/teaching. I know that this in no way means that I am qualified or have what it takes to become a SERE specialist but believe that with hard work, I could have what it takes. I am aware that SERE Specialists are not considered Special Operations but am hoping that there may be one (or someone who knows one) in the Shadowspear community. I have gone to gosere.com but would like to ask someone who has knowledge on this subject a few questions.
Thank you,
LEOP24

I'm sure there's a few SERE guys here, but if you have questions... Probably use the search button first. The odds seem high that the question's already been asked. Pretty much every question I've had before arriving here has been answered already by threads already extant in the forums, from what boots to buy to what to expect in SFAS. I haven't had to post any questions.

In the odd event that they haven't been answered already- just ask them. No sense in making a post about questions then not asking them.

That said, if you're looking for reassurance or encouragement, join a mentorship program (up top) or turn back while the getting's good. My experience is limited but I've spent about 60 of the last 72 hours on this site, and I've yet to see any hand holding.

Welcome to the site, and BOL.

Sorry, didn't mean to step on any toes. Not trying to piss off a senior member, especially to help a dude who posted here once then checked out.

@Six-Two,

I don't want to answer for 0699 because he doesn't need me to. I think part of the issue with your post is that it "speaks to the obvious" concerning this forum. The members here pride themselves on being independent thinkers and "searchers" for information and truth. If there is something that we don't know...we research it and learn about it. We expect others to do the same. Though you meant well...your post simply stated the obvious which is something I wish everyone would already now or realize after initially joining and posting their introduction.

Cool by me. Answering my own questions is why I'm here.

Well, finding the answers to my questions, I should say. I'm gonna fuck off from this thread so I can get the taste of my feet outta my mouth.

You neither stepped on my toes, nor did you piss me off. Maybe I should have been more blunt...

You JUST got here four days ago. Sit back quietly for a while, observe how things work, let the people that have seen the elephant offer advice.

Especially in an old, OLD, thread...

Noted. Thanks for the clarity. Will do.

Yeah, I noticed that last bit (about the old thread) post-facto... It was in "New Posts," didn't realize it was 6 months old.

Attention to detail... one of the traits of a good soldier or SOF member... it sits right next to Situational awareness. technical and tactical proficiency, professionalism, and humility...
