All,

I'm a senior in High School, hoping to become a Ranger. I'm waiting on an Option 40 Contract as we speak. For the mean time, I'm PT'ing myself to death, studying Land Nav., how to write OPORD's. and basic Army info for Basic. I joined to soak up as much information as possible on how to prepare myself for selection.

Thanks

Welcome....

No need to "PT yourself to death" just yet. Enjoy being a senior in high school, create amazing memories with your friends, and embrace this period before you are forced into adulthood. 30 years from now you will be glad that you did, I promise.

First off welcome aboard, I admire your enthusiasm to get in the thick of it. Land navigation and OPORD’s is nothing you need to worry about whatsoever right now, you will get extensive training on those in the Army. Focus on staying in healthy shape, out of trouble and like mentioned above, enjoy being a high schooler. I remember jonesing to get it like crazy, but those years before you go will never come back. Again, Welcome to SS.

Thank you all for the advise, I'm just excited. Although failing/ quitting isn't an option in my mind, I'm just nervous so I jumped the gun. For now, I'll simply be reading up on the fitness threads on the site and taking your advise.

Update:

I've been scouring the forums and I've seen a lot of "I'll off myself before I quit" dramatic bullshit. That is not what I meant by "failing/ quitting isn't an option in my mind" Just simply, I won't give up.
