Hello All,

My username is NFB19. I am currently enrolled at a Big 10 University and Marine Corps PLC Candidate that has contracted "Ground." I was selected to go to PLC Juniors, but I received an appointment to the United States Naval Academy C/O 2019 in February -- I was a re-applicant.

As you may have noticed, I aspire to be an officer in the United States Marine Corps. I would primarily like to be Infantry, but I have researched other options and further options(beyond Infantry), i.e. Recon and MARSOC. I do realize the difficulty of even obtaining Infantry and also realize that I have four more years at USNA and must do well very well at TBS before that becomes an option.

I have been ghosting this site on and off for awhile now to obtain various information concerning whatever questions Google does not satisfy. I find this site very helpful and professional and have just now decided to officially join. Thanks!

I am puzzled you are in a UNi... and in 4 years a appointment to the USNA.?

I had a appointment at the USNA when I was a Senior in highschool. The USNA offers a 4 year degree. If you are in a UNI, are you in a 4 year track so in 4 years 2019 you will have a 4 year degree? Why not do NROTC in College, get your commission.

Maybe I am reading this all wrong. I did not go to the USNA, but they had the ECP in the Corps when I was in. One did not need a 4 year degree. I am so confused.

Why would you get a 4 year degree, go another 4 years to get a four year degree when you can get a Masters in 2 more year. Are you in High School. I never thought the USNA gave appointment outs 4 years in the future.

Also if you are not a Marine, you have not earned the Globe and Anchor.

Class of 2019, he starts this summer, as a re-applicant from last year. He is in University, and those credits may or may not transfer to USNA allowing him more time to take elective courses in his major.

@HOLLiS
SF med is correct. I am a freshman in University. I failed to receive an appointment as a senior in High School and re-applied and received my appointment in February.

As for the EGA, I apologize and have been notified of the forum rules.

Thank you for the welcome everyone!

Thanks to SF med and thank you NFB19. I wish the best of success in your career,

There is at least one USNA grad / genuine bad ass Marine infantry officer on the site. Figure out who he is and he might be willing to give you some good career and life advice.
