I served with the Department of Defense as a Pashto linguist in Afghanistan from 2011-2014 supporting various SF ODAs and conventional forces in threatre, mostly in Kandahar/Helmand. I am now in a boring job on Wall Street, and I'm thinking of returning to the DoD or applying to the DIA.

Could I verify myself as SOF support or would I need to have actually been in the military?

Sure, can you specify what kind of things, i.e. pictures, you want and would scanning my old ID even help?

Also, unless someone here was in Kandahar a few months ago, I might find it tricky to get a vetted shadow spear SOF guy to support my request.
