I'm a former PSYOP guy who left Active Duty January of this year. 4 rotations in total, with the majority of that time spent supporting ODAs. After separating I worked on the family farm for several months before landing a job in the marketing/pr field while going to school full-time. I'm currently reviewing my options for transitioning to a path that will lead me to a career as a mid-level practitioner.

I'm looking to utilize shadowspear.com for some research on potential post-active duty service opportunities, as well as enjoy the occasional moment of nostalgia. Thanks for having me.

Do it while the knowledge is still fresh.... I take it you were a team medic for your Psyops team.

No I was/am a 37F, but I have had the opportunity to work with some great medical professionals that really fostered in myself an interest in medicine. I've done some sub-provider level training (Civilian taught OEMS), but the majority of my experience has been shadowing the 18Ds and SOCM CA Medics that were gracious enough to let me help out in the med shed when I could.

I'm still short of a bachelors degree, and am WAY short of the health care experience I would like to have before applying to a PA program. My tentative plan as of now is EMT-P certification, then finish my bachelors, and then work to at least 4000 hours of HCE (including at least some in a rural/remote role) before applying.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
