I have spent 6.5 years in the Army National Guard as an Engineer. I am ETS'ing this fall with the goal to enlist into the active component as an 18x. Full time I work in my community as a Police Officer. I have been lurking here for awhile, glad to finally be saying hello.

Welcome. Will they hold your job for you when you go Active duty?

Negative. I am hoping they will allow me to switch to a "Reserve Officer." At our agency being a reserve is volunteer time so you don't get paid. But I will ultimately end up here since its my home town. Being a reserve will let me stay involved a bit and I can keep my commission.
